Let's go through some of the myths and pre-conceived ideas you might have towards Pole dance.


YOU HAVE TO BE STRONG & FLEXIBLE


You don't ♡


You will get strong and flexible with time and practice.


To be where you want to be all you got to do is start!


Now, if you take calisthenic or flexibility classes certain tricks might feel easier.


If you happen to have a gymnastic or dance background it will help you reach new heights faster when your muscle memory recognizes similar patterns.


Pole is about reconnecting to your own body while having fun defying gravity.



YOU HAVE TO BE HALF NAKED


The more skin the better you grip ♡ but...


When you start you can wear a shorts and a shirt.


However, now there are some great pole wear brands that created leggings and tops that grip to the pole!

Just listen to your needs.


YOU HAVE TO DANCE IN A SEXUAL WAY


Only if you take pleasure in doing so ♡


There are A LOT of pole classes out there!



Some will invite you to reconnect to your sensuality, while others will be focused on tricks, on strength, on letting you express your emotions, on storytelling, etc.


Check out different studios and see which ones speak to you the most!

YOU HAVE TO BE A WOMAN TO POLE


Pole dancing is a sport that welcomes everyone


Just find the pole style that fits your personality and goals best.


If you want to get in shape try a pole tricks or pole conditioning class.

If you want to reconnect to your sensuality try an exotic pole, pole flow, or floorwork class.

If you want to experiment and connect to your emotions try a pole contemporary class or a pole duo class.


Studios will welcome you no matter what gender you identify with.


YOU HAVE TO POLE DANCE ALONE


You don't


It might be simpler to learn a few tricks alone before creating a routine with a pole mate.


But if you prefer duo pole classes... there are some studios that offer them!



You will never be alone in this journey as you will meet creative and passionate individuals that will inspire you to train often, and reach new heights!


Pole dance classes often create a tight community and friendships between the participants.


Try making a pole friend to organize pole trainings together outside of class!


The more you experiment, the more you grow!
